There’s going to be a lot of direction change, revisiting old legislative proposals and certainly investigations and impeachment attempts over the next two years. I’d like to say it will be fun to watch but I respect the nation too much to look at this as entertainment. Let’s hope some members of Congress will actually reach across the isle and do some things good for the country (besides naming post offices.)
This to my re-elected third district Colorado Congressman, Scott Tipton R- CO.
Mid Term Election is over. You are my guy again – that is good – I voted for you.
We now have a Lame Duck Congress – an opportunity to salvage a few things before the new Congress attempts to undo all done in this Congress.
The House controls the purse strings. Please use this Lame Duck time to accomplish the conservative goals necessary to insure funding for President Trump’s wall (how refreshing – an Administration that attempts to accomplish what they promised during their campaign) and to continue to rebuild the military. There is probably other Immigration Reform (whatever that means) legislation the Administration needs completed before the new Congress. Certainly there isn’t enough time to accomplish “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” – the totally meaningless holy grail of Immigration Management touted by both Conservative and Liberal Congress people for decades.
As the left insures we become more and more divided as a nation, and Colorado is nearly as “Blue” now as California, I and other conservatives in Colorado look to you (and Senator Gardner) to fight hard for the conservative values and actions necessary to hold our “…more perfect Union…” together. We need your efforts now to keep our massively bloated (and soon to be more bloated) federal government functioning as well as possible for the next few years.
You have a new challenge facing you. It is very easy to become a rigid part of the growing Red vs Blue, Us vs Them, and countless other separations that are tearing this Union apart. We need to move back towards these founding principles necessary for our government to continue to function as the most successful governmental experiment ever.
- Honest elections are the foundation of our democratic republic
- Accepting and honoring election results.
- Removing politics from Judicial Appointments.
- Accepting and honoring our Judicial system.
You’ve been hired to do the job. It won’t be easy. We’re counting on you.
